Professor Tocha was born on the 17th of April 1980 in Fortaleza, Brazil. He began practicing Capoeira from the age of 14, under the instruction of Mestre Ratto who was then teaching under privileged children in the suburbs of Fortaleza. Professor Tocha followed the steps of his Master to teach underprivileged children as well.
Since 1998, he was instructing various age groups.
In 2005, Tocha started up his own project, teaching close to 100 students.

In 2006, he graduated as a professor of capoeira.


He was invited to take part in Capoeira workshops in Hungary, Holland, Austria, Venezuela, and all over Brazil.
During his travels, he participated in various accredited workshops and seminars amongst whom are Mestre Itapoan, Mestre Nenel, Mestre Jogo de Dentro, Mestre Suassuna, and Mestre Joao Pequeno.
