The Group

The Centro Cultural Água de Beber – CECAB team was oficially founded by  Mestre Ratto in January 2002.
Its purpose is to difuse the brasilian culture through capoeira. His attitude of life stands as a character shaper, which on a long-term supports his students personalities.
The community shaping power of the team as well as the  impact they exrecise  on people and on different cultures can perhaps change or at least make the place we are living in better.
The achievements of their work gets through to people due to demonstrations, cultural and sport events as well as different social projects.
The seat of CECAB lies in the city of Fortaleza, in Brazil, while several teams are  running in numerous cities all around the world.
As an NGO(Non Govermental Organization) its main pursuit is capoeira    (trainings,”freeload”, office work,numbers, festivals, performances) but besides these they also engage in afro-brasilian dance teaching ( samba, maculelé, frévo(brasilian folk dance) afro dances), the fabrication of instruments, music classes, film projection and performer nights. 
The income that results from their work is mainly utilized within their own social project.

We would like to nourish the traditions and various styles of capoeira.
We try to disperse and transmit capoeira, as one of the most expressive features of the brasilian culutre.
What does capoeira mean for the team?
Sport,song, music, rythm, harmony, dance,craft, discipline, hierarchy, game.
We devote ourselves to raising well-trained, highly professional capoeira performers and to become one of them ourselves.
